Digital X-Ray

What is this ?

An x-ray is a form of electromagnetic radiation, very similar to visible light. It uses small amounts of ionizing radiation to produce clear images of internal body structure. It is one of the fundamental and foremost techniques of noninvasive medical imaging, based upon which the other imaging services sprout.

Why I need this :

Whenever the physical body of a person or any part thereof gets damaged, further medication or treatment is not possibly until and unless the details of the damage are known. And since we are not "Superman” equipped with x-ray vision, a formal digital x ray is most apt for the situation. By having a digital x-ray report, it is possible to achieve accurate and comprehensive details, including bone non-alignment, bone/ joint dislocation, fractured bones, infection, arthritis, abnormal bone growth and even bone cancer. Administering medication or drugs without having an x-ray done can be fatal.

Services offered :

Digital x-ray can be effectively used to look for injury, infection, arthritis, abnormal bone growths and bony changes seen in metabolic conditions.

  • It can be used to diagnose fractured bones or joint dislocation.
  • It can be used to guide orthopedic surgeries, such as spine repair/fusion, joint replacement, and fracture reductions.
  • It can be used to demonstrate proper alignment and stabilization of bone fragments following the treatment of the fracture.
  • It can be used to assist in the detection and diagnosis of bone cancer
  • It can be used to locate foreign objects in soft tissues around or in bones.

What shall I expect :

Our advanced computerized radiology system is completely digital, so our specialized and skilled radiologists can receive the x-rays quickly via computer. With our digital system, the patient is exposed to less radiation. You might have to change into a gown, depending upon the body part being x rayed.

Most x-rays are quick and require or almost none to little preparation; but having said that, it is also important for you to know that due to heavy incoming patient traffic, we literally strive to keep your appointments on schedule. So, please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment for registration. Most x-ray exams last between 10 to 30 minutes.
