An x-ray is a form of electromagnetic radiation, very similar to visible light. It uses small amounts of ionizing radiation to produce clear images of internal body structure. It is one of the fundamental and foremost techniques of noninvasive medical imaging, based upon which the other imaging services sprout.
Digital x-ray can be effectively used to look for injury, infection, arthritis, abnormal bone growths and bony changes seen in metabolic conditions.
Our advanced computerized radiology system is completely digital, so our specialized and skilled radiologists can receive the x-rays quickly via computer. With our digital system, the patient is exposed to less radiation. You might have to change into a gown, depending upon the body part being x rayed.
Most x-rays are quick and require or almost none to little preparation; but having said that, it is also important for you to know that due to heavy incoming patient traffic, we literally strive to keep your appointments on schedule. So, please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment for registration. Most x-ray exams last between 10 to 30 minutes.
